Before technology made it possible to hear one’s own voice, the repercussions through echoes were the only way to hear oneself: this is how we become certain of our own existence. A.I.D employs this technique to make audible the traces of action-perception loops enacting feedback, delay and interaction between different entities. As much as these loops resemble their origin, they keep coming back in altered ways.

For this edition of «Chromatic Wednesdays» the core team of A.I.D, based mainly in Turkey, comes together to give their third concert in Berlin. A.I.D (Art is Dead) is an organization that breaks with defined musical criteria. Referring to the characteristics of music that uses new technologies, methods, reasoning and experimental attitudes today, it encompasses a wide range from acoustic improvisational performances to pre-composed electroacoustic pieces; from severe-harsh noise styles to hardcore/terror sets and site-specific interactive/multidisciplinary spatializations and installations.

«Chromatic Wednesdays» is a bi-weekly event series that aims to bring together creative thinkers from diverse backgrounds. The concerts of A.I.D start at 19.00 at Apartment Project (Hertzbergstraße 13, 12055 Berlin, doors open at 18.30). Please see the line-up for the order of the concerts. Bevor Technologien es ermöglichten, die eigene Stimme zu hören, waren die Effekte von Echos die einzige Möglichkeit, sich selbst zu hören: Auf diese Weise können wir uns unserer eigenen Existenz vergewissern. A.I.D setzt diese Technik ein, um die Spuren von Aktions-Wahrnehmungsschleifen hörbar zu machen, die Rückkopplungen, Verzögerungen und Interaktionen zwischen verschiedenen Entitäten bewirken. So sehr diese Schleifen ihrem Ursprung ähneln, so sehr kehren sie in veränderter Form wieder.

Für diese Ausgabe von «Chromatic Wednesdays» kommt das Team von A.I.D, das hauptsächlich in der Türkei lebt, zusammen, um ihr drittes Konzert in Berlin zu geben. A.I.D (Art is Dead) ist eine Organisation, die mit festgelegten musikalischen Kriterien bricht. Die Musiker_innen beziehen sich auf die Charakteristika von Musik, die heute neue Technologien, Methoden, Denkweisen und experimentelle Haltungen nutzt. Dabei umfasst ihr Repertoire ein breites Spektrum von akustischen Improvisationsperformances bis hin zu vorkomponierten elektroakustischen Stücken; von strengen, harten Noise-Stilen bis hin zu Hardcore-/Terror-Sets und ortsspezifischen interaktiven/multidisziplinären Raumgestaltungen und Installationen.

«Chromatic Wednesdays» ist eine zweiwöchentliche Veranstaltungsreihe, die kreative Denker_innen mit unterschiedlichem Hintergrund zusammenbringt. Die Konzerte von A.I.D beginnen um 19.00 im Apartment Project (Hertzbergstraße 13, 12055 Berlin, Einlass um 18.30 Uhr).
