Akis ist eine erzählerische audiovisuelle Installation, die erforscht, was Migrant*innen aus der Türkei auf verschiedenen Ebenen emotional angehäuft haben. Während sie stets im mentalen Raum zwischen beiden Geografien gefangen waren, haben Generationen von Migrant*innen vielfältige Erinnerungen und Erzählungen geformt. Durch diese Narrative haben sie ihre Gefühle, Reflexionen und Rätsel zwischen den beiden Identifikationen entfaltet. Die Ausstellung versucht, gemeinsam erdachte und erzeugte Gefühle der Zugehörigkeit zur zeitgenössischen Diaspora in Berlin mit verschiedenen Hintergründen in Musik und Neuen Medien zusammenzubringen.

Apartment Project wird in einen Ort für eine “narrative audiovisuelle Installation” verwandelt. Die Installation ist eine an Mapping erinnernde physische Struktur aus Gerüstmaterial, die in kleinere Modulen unterteilt ist. Die Struktur selbst ist das Rückgrat des Projekts und hält die Integrität des Werks aufrecht, verbunden durch eine musikalische Komposition, die atonale Melodien, Klänge und elektronische Musik kombiniert.

Migration ist ein neuer Lernraum für uns alle. Wie können wir Gefühle und innere Monologe in Worte und Bewegung übersetzen? Ist es möglich, das Zögern vor dem Sprechen, die zufälligen Bewegungen, die Orte der Tagträumerei, die Erinnerungen und Projektionen, die unser Bewusstsein für die Gegenwart trüben, aufzuspüren, während wir an einem neu geschaffenen, heimatähnlichen Ort leben?

Akis is a narrative audiovisual installation, that explores the multi-layered emotional accumulation of migrants from Turkey. Always caught in the mental space between the two geographies, generations have shaped multiple memories and narratives. These have unfolded their feelings, reflections, and puzzles between the two identifications. This exhibition will try to put together, jointly conceived, and produce feelings of belonging to the contemporary diaspora in the city of Berlin, with diverse backgrounds in music and new media.

Apartment Project’s space will be transformed into a place for a “narrative audiovisual installation.” The installation is an audiovisual, map-like physical structure made of scaffolding material that consists of smaller modules. The structure itself is the spine of the project, maintaining the integrity of the work linked by a musical composition that combines atonal melodies, sounds, and electronic music.

Immigration is a new learning space for all of us. How can we translate emotions and inner monologues to words and movement? Is it possible to track the hesitations before speaking, to track the coincidental movements, the places of daydreaming, the memories and projections that cloud our awareness of the present, while we live in a newly constructed home-like place?
