To write a novel is seen as a monumental undertaking to accomplish in one’s lifetime. None of us has written a novel before and to take on this task together, forming a temporary writing society means something new to all of us. Believing in realizing a novel in a timeframe of one month introduces already a form of possible failure. Embracing this defeat we will work ’til the end.
Artists from Istanbul, Izmir, and Mardin have come together in Berlin at Apartment Project in July 2016 for a-month long experience of communal living and production. This marks the beginning of a one-year long process called Mist. Aiming for low visibility and high presence, the artists are considering positions, actions, and presence they can take in response to the accelerating trans–geographic state of exception. (more…)
Film conceived and produced by the Collective Film Project (KFP)
Collective Film Project (Kolektif Film Projesi, KFP) is a cinema initiative of Apartment Project. KFP was formed as a platform for artists from different backgrounds and working in a variety of media to come together to create new cinematic forms. The project is grounded in a philosophy of collaboration, embracing spontaneity and improvisation. KFP drew inspiration from the tropes and formats of historical genres of film, performance, and literature. (more…)
KABA HAT was in a residency in Apartment Project between 25 July-6 September 2013. During that period KABA HAT had an exhibition in Institut für Alles Mögliche, participated to the B_tour festival and between 2 September-2 October 2013 Trümmer auf Trümmer (Yığın üstüne yığın) was exhibited in Apartment Project.
